I've had a goal for a while now to see all 50 states before I turn 50. Being realistic, I have now altered that goal to seeing them all by the time I'm 60. Still a high goal, but possible.
I've made it to the most distant ones - Alaska and Hawaii. However, I still have a number of them to get to including the following 13:
- Maine
- Vermont
- New Hampshire
- Minnesota
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
- Nebraska
- Kansas
- Montana
- Wyoming
- Idaho
- Oregon
- Washington

Having grown up in New England, I would say the top three (VT, ME and NH) are absolutely wonderful. The White Mountains in NH have great hikes, high in the sky, and friendly people.
I've been to Washington State, once, to Seattle. One of the prettiest cities I've ever been to. (Another pretty city is Vancouver, just over the border from Seattle).
