Thursday Thirteen - Nativities

I started collecting nativities many years ago. These are in no particular order but I believe the pewter one was my first. As always you can click on them to take a closer look.

This is my smallest.

If you hadn't guessed, this one is from our trip to Alaska.

This one is made so that a candle fits inside it.

This is probably the most realistic depiction.

#14 Bonus

I bought the Little People one this year to put on the bottom shelf so it was safe for grandbabies. Isaac is especially fond of the donkey -or at least the way it tastes!

This is neat! I love the teeny one...where did you get that! I saw one in an ornament this year...it opened and the wisemen walked around the family! Neat!

I did this same T13 a few weeks back. We have the same Little People one that the kids LOVE.

I'm surprised there is no VeggieTales Christmas Nativity, because it seems you have every other one!

Happy TT!

I really like that pewter one. I can hardly see the smallest. It's even smaller than the ornament.

Are those eskimos? Very cool!

Love all your nativities. My collection is growing...very slowly. I see a set you have that I really want - the carved ones - second-to-last photo. What's the brand/maker?

Thanks for sharing with us.

Merry Christmas from She Lives!

MomE - I got the matchbox nativity at Bronners in Frankenmuth, MI. It is a tiny music box too.

Barbara - I'd love to see that. I really wish I had gotten one years ago when I went to Hawaii but I only found an ornament since it was summer time.

Carol - Yes, they're Eskimos, and the polar bear & moose that came with it just amuse me. The wood one is by Jim Shore and is available at larger Macy's stores.

I enjoyed our collection of Navities. I have several of my own but the only one we have in common is the last one.
Hugs and blessings,

I found one in an old run down barn and took a photo of another one today that was made of white glow in the dark plastic.

Love it!! What a great idea. Much cooler than santa or snowmen. :)

What a beautiful collection ! You would have a lot of success in Italy, there the nativity scenes are more important than Christmas trees and they usually have whole villages. My husband got one when he was 2 years old and if we would put it up correctly it would take the size of a little room ! The figures are also quite big !

These are gorgeous nativities. I enjoy seeing different interpretations of this moment. I have one from Ecuador that is inside an egg shell. The miracle is that it has survived me for 10 years!
