Camera Advise Sticky Post
I am in the market for a new camera and would welcome any advise from my blog friends. I need something fairly lightweight and small, as I have small hands, but I am wanting a better quality camera then the "point and shoot" type I have now.
I would like a camera that doesnt take 3 seconds to take the picture, it is so annoying when you are trying to take pictures of chickens, they don't say cheese and smile for the camera.
I upgraded myself to a CanonSX10. It is great but the smaller one just under this one-- Canon SX100 is amall with 10x zoom and no shutter delay. I liked it and love the one I have now. Easy peasy no fuss. Great zoom too. No attachments--still point and shoot but with perks. check out my blog and i am strickly an amatuer. MaryBeth
By the way, you have the date wrong on this post. It isn't Oct 16 yet!
I don't know what kind of point and shoot you are using now. I've been VERY happy with my little Canon. They keep coming out with new PowerShot models. Very small, light, fabulous color reproduction. Most of the pros use Canon for small cameras, I think. You can check my blog for photo quality, and that's a 3-year old model. As for shutter lag, that's pretty much over. You might have to wait if you've been doing a lot of flash indoors in quick succession for the battery to refresh, but that's the only time you have to wait.

I understand - nor do grandkids keep that cute smile or pose while you wait for the camera to click!

Mine is very simple to use but it even has many functions I don't know about. It is small and has a zoom. What kind do you have now?
I've had good luck with Fuji cameras... and Sue likes Samsung... and both of us loath HP and Kodak, if that helps. :)
