Ok here is where I was always confused. The Bible says that Jesus went out amoung the sinners so why should't we? It sounds reasonable. But here is the problem. Jesus was without sin so he was able to change their hearts. We however have sinned so the sinners will change our hearts and drag us down. Great post.
Greg, I think it is about a "happy medium". If no one goes where the sinners are, no one gets saved. I think we all have certain weaknesses and tendencies toward particular types of sin. We should definitely avoid people who may draw us into those types of behavior or situations. For example, a woman might be able to work among a group of prostitutes and reach some of them. It would be foolishness, however, to send a man into that same situation. Jesus could speak to all tyoes of people because he was without sin. Since we are not, we need to select and guard our outreach choices with prayer, wisdom and common sense.
